FAQ Zephyria Yachting

What should I bring?

Pack your bags with everything you think you might need, and then eliminate most of it. Gulet life is so laid back and as informal as you like that you may well be happy bringing only carry-on luggage. Our suggestions are comfortable walking shoes if you like to hike, deck shoes, extra swimwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, toiletries, a light sweater or jacket for cooler evenings, shorts, t-shirts, and prescription medicines. On board you will find reading material, beach and bath towels and hair dryer.

What is included in the cost?

  • Local taxes in Turkey
  • Commercial harbor expenses in Turkey
  • Yacht insurance
  • Diesel
  • Laundry
  • Usage of water
  • 24 hour crew service
  • Use of equipment on board

Additional costs are:

  • Entry-exit customs formalities in Turkey
  • Food and beverages onboard
  • Land excursions and entry fees to antique sites
  • Transfers – these can be arranged at an additional cost
  • Fuel for onboard toys
  • Private marina fees in Turkey
  • Crew gratuities
  • Other special requests

Do I need insurance?

Your charter agreement will detail insurance provisions: the yacht remains insured by the owner during your charter; however we advise all guests to consider Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance. You may also wish to consider Personal Accident or Medical Insurance plus Personal Effects Insurance, which is generally not included in the charter fee.

Is it possible to embark and disembark from different locations?

This is possible, but it depends on the availability of the boat. However in some cases, you may be charged an additional fee for relocation of the boat. The cost of this fee varies and is based on the distance between the two harbors.

Do you offer Cabin Charters?

No. Zephyria Yachting provide exclusive private charters and we feel that cabin charters do not match with the service and quality standards of our company.

Can I combine my Yacht Charter with a land tour visiting Istanbul, Cappadocia or Ankara for example?

Our guests travel from all over the world visiting Turkey from Europe as well as the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Brazil. Many of them are touring Europe on extended trips and include a Blue Cruise into their program. We are happy to advise you on the best ways of combining land and sea experiences making your trip as easy and smooth as possible with advice on flights, transfers and accommodation.

Can I combine daily land excursions with my Gulet Charter?

We work with several well-established travel agents in Turkey who provide a range of high quality and stimulating land tours, excursions and activities along in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Please contact us for further details.

Is it possible to plan our own itinerary/ route?

Yes, it is possible to plan your own itinerary. This is our specialty and following your booking we establish with you exactly what you want from your cruise and make it happen. Please keep in mind that we will do our utmost to accommodate your requirements, provided the weather and other conditions permit.

What is the weather like?

In general, temperatures at sea are comfortable throughout the summer- in fact being on a yacht at this time of year is the best option! Ample shade is always available on board. Zephyria offers a wide selection of both air-conditioned and non-air conditioned Gulets.

Do you cater for special diets?

Zephyria will ask for the exact food and beverage preferences of your group prior to your arrival and will arrange menus to suit accordingly. Gluten free diets, dairy intolerance, vegetarian diets and allergies will be strictly taken into account. Just let us know in advance. In any case, with the abundance of fresh local and seasonal Mediterranean produce, our excellent chefs make each meal one to remember.

How big are your beds?

Standard double beds on most of our gulets are 140 x 200 cm and single beds are either 80 x 200 or 90 x 200 cm. Master cabins often have larger double beds.

How often will we sail with no engine power?

While most of Zephyria's itineraries are based upon approximately three-four hours of motoring daily, our crew will raise the sails as the weather conditions and routes allow. If you are a sailing enthusiast, we are happy to design an itinerary with optimal sailing opportunities.

What is the tipping policy for crew?

Gratuity is a very individual decision. As a guideline, we suggest tipping the crew either individually or via the captain similarly to what you would tip in a good hotel or restaurant (between 5 and 10% of the charter fee not including extras) for the services rendered.

How far ahead of time do I need to book?

We suggest that you enquire as early as possible to arrange for the Gulet and dates that best suit you.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

Yes. Just inform us of your arrival and departure details in advance.

Can you arrange hotel bookings for us?

No, but with our local knowledge, we can suggest a selection of hotels that may be suitable for your party.

What is your cancellation policy?

“The charter agreement is valid upon being signed by both parties and upon receipt of the initial down payment to ZEPHYRIA YACHTING. In the event the Charterers wish to cancel the charter, the following cancellation charges will apply: Prior to 60 days before the departure date: 50% of the charter hire. Less than 60 days 100% of charter hire. Cancellation will take effect upon written notice to ZEPHYRIA YACHTING. The Owners will use their best endeavors to re-charter the yacht.  If the yacht is re-sold, the Owners will fully refund the Charterer. If the Charterer would like to change dates and those dates are available, the full amount of money paid may be transferred to the new date and must be applied to the same yacht in the same year.  Any increase price differences caused by the change of date will be paid by the Charterer. ZEPHYRIA YACHTING strongly recommends travel, health and Cancellation insurances be bought by the Charterers to cover possible loss”
